Preston Signs Autographs for Two

In October of 2008 Preston and I got to perform with Beatlegras in Winnsboro, Texas. Crossroads Coffeehouse is a great venue and is situated in the heart of downtown Winnsboro. It is operated by Lynn Alder and Lindy Hearne, along with daughter Kate Hearne. All three are exceptional performing artists and they have booked some incredible talent over the last few years. It was a pleasure for us to open for Beatlegras in October.
We played our set and sold a few RiverSide CDs. During the break, one of the sweetest things that ever happened to me occurred. Preston and I were opening CDs, taking money and signing CDs. I was scratching my usual signature and Preston was signing … capital P, capital R, capital E, etc. We were sharing a Sharpie. I was occupied talking to a customer. When I looked up I saw one of the CDs signed “PRESTON” and “PAPA”
“Papa, I signed this one for you” he said. PRICELESS!
